Buying a firearm online is simple. The only difference from buying in a store is that the firearm must be shipped to a licensed dealer (FFL) where you complete the background check and paperwork.
Browse our inventory and add the firearm you want to your cart.
When checking out, you will select a local Federal Firearms License holder (FFL) who will receive the firearm for you.
Federal law requires all online firearm purchases to be shipped to a licensed dealer, not directly to the buyer.
Most gun stores, ranges, and many pawn shops provide transfer services.
During checkout you can:
• Select an FFL from our dealer list
• Or have your preferred dealer email us a copy of their FFL to sales@brightongun.com.
Complete checkout like any other online purchase.
Once your order is placed:
• We process the firearm
• The firearm is shipped to your selected dealer
You will receive tracking information once the firearm ships.
When the firearm arrives, your FFL dealer will contact you to come complete the transfer.
Bring the following with you:
• Valid government-issued ID
• Any state required permits (if applicable)
At the dealer you will:
• Fill out ATF Form 4473
• Complete the required background check
Once approved, you may take possession of the firearm.
Most dealers charge a transfer fee for handling the paperwork and background check.
These fees are set by the receiving dealer and are not included in our price.
Transfer fees typically range from $20–$50 depending on the dealer.

An FFL transfer is the process of shipping a firearm to a licensed dealer who then legally transfers the firearm to you.
This process exists because federal law requires that firearm sales involving shipment must go through a licensed dealer.
The dealer performs the background check and completes the federal paperwork before the firearm can be released.
In most cases, no.
Federal law requires firearms purchased online to be shipped to a licensed dealer (FFL) where the buyer completes the background check.
The only common exceptions are:
• Certain antique firearms
• Some black powder firearms
• Transfers between licensed dealers
For standard modern firearms, shipment must go to an FFL dealer.
